Membership Criteria

Members will usually have a qualification in medicine, pharmacy, related science or nursing and be professionally concerned with clinical toxicology whether in a poisons centre, university, hospital or in government or industry.

Members
Individuals meeting the criteria for membership set by the Board can become a member upon making written application to the General Secretary and such application being accepted by the Board. Members may attend the General Assembly and vote and are eligible to hold office in the Association.

Associate members
For a maximum period of two years, individuals meeting the criteria for membership set by the Board can become an associate member of the Association upon making written application to the General Secretary and such application being accepted by the Board. Associate members will pay a reduced subscription and may attend the General Assembly but are not eligible to vote in the deliberations of the General Assembly and will not receive the Association's Journal, Clinical Toxicology and may not hold office in the Association. After two years associate members will automatically become a member and must pay the full membership fee.

Emeritus members
If a member is retiring from active employment and wishes to be considered for emeritus status they should apply to the General Secretary stating what they have done within the society. Emeritus members are members of the Association who have retired from the active practice of clinical toxicology and are so approved by the Board. They shall receive membership benefits as may be prescribed by the Board. They will be exempted of annual membership fees or will pay a reduced annual subscription if they want to receive the Journal of the Association. Emeritus members may attend the General Assembly and are eligible to vote in the deliberations of the General Assembly but may not hold office in the Association

Membership Fees

Members will pay an annual subscription of EUR 165 in 2010. Members of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology who do not wish to receive Clinical Toxicology pay a reduced annual subscription of EUR 120 in 2010. Associate members also pay the reduced subscription of EUR 120 in 2010. Reduced fees are available for those who pay for 2 or 3 years in advance.
The membership fee for Emeritus members is free or EUR 65 for subscription to Clinical Toxicology.
Any member who has not paid his/her subscription by 31 December each year shall automatically cease to be a member of the Association.

Current members may use the Membership Fee Form 2010 (as pdf or as doc) to pay their one, two or three year's fee to the treasurer (pdf/doc to print, fill, and send by mail or fax (+44 20 7188 0700). Payment can be made ONLINE when entering the membership part of this website. Please read the Treasurer's letter regarding membership fees.

Application for Membership

Those wishing to apply for membership must complete the combined Application and Fee Form and submit it to the General Secretary, together with a more detailed CV for consideration.

Once your application for membership has been accepted (usually within one month) you will be notified.
